Hello and happy weekend! I accidentally haven’t posted an update in almost a week whoops! If I’m completely honest, half the time I’m not exactly sure what’s going on or what’s happening next. I treasure the moments I get to have a phone call with Grandon, but those calls only happen once every few days for 5-10 minutes because it can be difficult for him to have the energy to talk. It’s an adjustment for both of us, but it makes our calls even more special. : ) Plus, I get to go home to see him in six days and that will make up for all of the lost time. *happy tears*
This past week, Grandon had a lumbar puncture procedure. He told me that the day he had that procedure was his worst day in this entire process so far. Things kind of piled on him that day—chemo effects, not being able to eat for hours before the procedure, the procedure itself, and having to lay still for two hours after, plus the stress about the potential of bad results. I had to have a good cry that night after getting off FaceTime with him because it is sooo so so hard seeing someone you love in so much pain.
The days following were much, much better for him. The results he received from the procedure were all good, and he’s been able to rest and eat all his fav foods. Next week, he may be able to transition to outpatient chemo if his blood counts cooperate! This is the best news ever since we originally thought he’d have to stay for another week or two.
Here are a few things you can be praying for:
- Grandon’s blood counts! We would love for him to be able to go home.
- For a smooth transition back home when the time comes.
- (selfishly) that I finish all my homework and exams before I visit so that I can be fully invested in my time with him!
Thanks for praying with me! Have a lovely weekend!
Lots of love,
Lizzy
