Hello and happy Sunday! I hope you are all doing well!
Last Wednesday, Grandon met with his doctor to get the results of the bone marrow biopsy that he had done a few weeks ago. I was SO anxiously waiting by my phone the entire time he was at his appointment, and then, in true Grandon fashion, he casually texted me, “I am leukemia-free.” Lol, I was so happy and also cracking up at how he told me so nonchalantly! Praise the Lord that the chemo is doing its job!
This means that we are heading toward phase 2 of treatment! Grandon’s blood counts still need to rise a bit before he can start this next phase, but his doctors are projecting that he will be ready by this upcoming week.
The phases go like this:
- Induction
- Consolidation (we are about to be here)
- Maintenance
In his consolidation phase, he will be receiving six types of chemo medicine, four days per week. In his previous phase, he was receiving two types of chemo medicine, one day per week. It will be a hard few months, but a blessing to even be at this point.
My fall break just so happens to be this week, and I’ll get to be with Grandon for some of his chemo treatments. God really does have perfect timing. <3
Thank you so much for continuing to pray for Grandon, his family, and for me. This blog has been an amazing outlet for me during this time!
I will continue to send updates soon. Much love!
