Happy December! I just got back from Thanksgiving Break on Sunday and have about 8 days left here in Virginia before I wrap up the semester. That also means Grandon and I get a break from long distance—something we’re both definitely looking forward to!
It seems like life tends to get a littleee extra chaotic at the busiest times. On Monday night, around midnight Grandon’s time (1 a.m. for me), I was falling asleep when I saw a notification that he had left his house. My best friend Olivia was still awake with me, and we both immediately felt like something might be wrong with his health. We kept an eye on his location and watched as he arrived at the ER.
Later, I found out that he had been in extreme pain. The doctors discovered blood clots in his lungs, and the next morning he was transported to a hospital in Chicago, the same one he stayed at for phase 1 of his treatment. They treated the clots with blood thinners, platelet transfusions, and his regular chemo. It’s been a lot for him and he is still in the hospital, but I’m so happy to share that he’s doing much better now!
Grandon is in the home stretch of this intense chemo phase and is ready to move past it. I’d love for you to join me in praying for him over the next few weeks:
- No further complications with chemo, especially blood clotting
- Strength and endurance to manage chemo’s side effects
- Peace as he prepares for another bone marrow biopsy on the 16th
Thank you so much for reading and for keeping Grandon in your prayers. I’ve said it a million times but your support means the world to both of us!
